School Lunches

Image
I was asked to start a page because of our school lunches and bento systems. So here goes!!! Hi, everyone. I'm a SAHWM to 4 beautiful girls. 7, 6, 3, and 1. I have a kindergartener and First grader. Not happy with our current lunch program so I pack their lunches 75% of the time. Almost everything is organic and made from scratch. Their favorite lunch is pizza lunchables! I make the pizzas in bulk and freeze them. (I'll include my recipe down below.) It's important to me that they get nutritious and yummy food for lunch. Their current lunch boxes are bentgo brand. You can find them on amazon now. I got them off zuily and groupon for 10 dollars less than amazon. This is what I love about this system. It has 2 sections. The insert and leakproof cover. I have bought lots of extra inserts and can pack a week in advance. I cover them in plastic wrap and then pop them into the case every night. A quick rinse off the cover and its ready to go. It's the only leakproof...

Pizza lunchable recipe

Image
Kassner's pizza lunchable recipe 2 1/2 cups organic whole wheat flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup warm water 1 tablespoon baking powder 4 tablespoon organic butter 1 tablespoon organic honey 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast Dissolve yeast and warm water and set aside. I use my ninja for all these steps. Easy peasy Combine all dry ingredients and pulse a couple times. Then cut in the softened butter. Add honey and water and yeast. Blend until combined. (will form a ball) Take out middle attachment, cover and set aside for 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. You'll need a rolling pin and 2 pieces of parchment paper. Your cookie cutter shape and baking pans. Either spray pans or line with parchment. To prevent the dough from getting tough I do this step 3 times with a small amount of dough each time. Roll the dough between the 2 pieces of parchment until you reach your desired thickness, cut of with the cookie cutter and poke holes using a fork. Place on baking sheet and ...

Dr. Seuss combined birthday party

Image
My favorite birthday party to date.  I decided to combine their 3rd and 2nd birthday parties together this year. And a thing 1 and 2 fit perfectly.  Table decorations were glass jars with red blue and white Daisies. Pictures from their photo shoot, goldfish bowls filled with goldfish and feather boas. At The kids table they each had their own hats.  We had a fun photo booth that was hand painted.  We had a fun fishing game made with heavy rods, string and magnets. The fish were bathtime toys with a screw inserted into its mouth. The kids had so much fun playing it.  So many fun things you can do with foods.  The cake was quite a centerpiece! Notice the best part? If you guessed a real goldfish you would be correct. ;)  The kids enjoyed their take home gifts. Homemade crayon rolls, coloring book, a sucker, stickers and bubbles.  It was a perfect fun filled night! I made their shirts, tutu and the baby wearing goldfish slip cover to go over my kinde...

Freezer organic taco pasta bake

Image
I found 7 organic turkeys being marked down. They were turkey burger patties but it's all the same. I picked up organic pasta, peppers, black beans, corn and tomatoes. Went home seasoned and cooked up the turkey and made a tomato based sauce with chili powder, onion, salt, pepper, garlic, cilantro and cumin. It ended up being pretty spicy so I dumped a tub of plain yogurt. Made it super creamy and delish. I got 7 freezer meals! Eating organic doesn't always have to break the budget. I topped with cheese before baking. Add a dolop of sour cream and its perfection.

Ugly Builders grade cabinets to fab! Under 1,000!

This will be long and full of pictures! The only thing we have not done yet is a back splash. I'm not 100% sure on what I want. I'm not going to rush it. And hubby needs a break. We spent less than 800 dollars!!! First things first the before. I couldn't stand the oak or the blue laminated counters.  We decided we liked a more country look so we chose to inlay the cabinets with a wallpaper we found at lowes. We cut and glued.  It took a while lol  24 hrs later I could start to see what it was going to look like. Hubby chose the coral. I repainted it ;) we decided to go with the rustolem cabinet kit white.  With and without glaze. We perfered  the glaze.  Next base cabinets. I wanted a color but didn't know what. I ended up choosing a color another blogger choose. Valspar woodland charm. We had it color matched to behr and in a satin.  We again opted for the glaze  Painted the walls behr burnished c...
