Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Where do you see your self in 10 yrs? Was the question asked my freshman year in English class. The normal's were given: teacher, lawyer, doctor, veterinarian, fashion designer, musican ect.  My response... A mom. She said, "No what do you want as a career?" And again I stated Mom. She wasn't letting me have it. So I then chose teacher.  Well 10 yrs later I can say with 100% certainty that I am a Mom AND a teacher!   As we embark on bringing a 4th child into our little world, I find my self remembering this moment in my past. A very special memory. Often as a sahm I sometimes feel less than other moms. I may not have a salary or a degree, but I do have everything I wanted at 15. I'm teaching my children everything from bible truths to tying shoes. I may not get paid to do it, but my children do.  I'm so happy at 25 this is where my life is. Yes, I'd be lying if I didn't say I was a little nervous... because I am! I love being a mom. My girls are my lif...

Brynlee Marie part II

From the previous blog you can understand how emotional I was during this entire pregnancy. Side note. I had to see an allergist this pregnancy from a reaction at the dentist. Learned I'm allergic to some preservatives in medications and anesthetics. Which explained my reactions to an epidural I had a previous labor. So my cnp recommended with my emotional state plus having to go natural I needed to seek a doula. A what? I thought. So off I went to do research. Luckily my aunt had a friend who was a doula and put me in touch with her. We talked and she gave me helpful advice about what questions to ask and assured me this was something I could do. I think I was 20ish weeks at this point. My main concern was just making it full term. I was having no luck finding any doula Searching the web. So for some reason I get a nudge to search on Craigslist. Why not I thought. That's where I found Felicia. I emailed her and she was quick to respond. I was sooo nervous. We set up a...

Cranberry No Bake Lactation Cookies. 1 1/2- 2 cups sugar (I use less since I added sweet cranberries.) 1/4 cup unsweetened coco powder 1/2 cup organic milk. (I used almond milk) 1 stick of butter 1/4 cup flaxseed 1 tablespoon genuine brewers yeast 1 teaspoon vanilla (I used almond since I used almond milk) 1/2 cup organic creamy peanut butter 3 cups organic old fashioned oats Package of organic dried cranberries In a sauce pan on medium heat combine sugar, coco powder, milk, butter, flaxseed and yeast. Stir occasionally until it starts to boil. Once boiling stir continuously for 1-3 minutes. Then take off heat. Add vanilla/almond and peanut butter. Stir until smooth. Then add your oats and dried berries. Place spoonfuls onto parchment paper until set (15 minutes) And enjoy. Your little one will also enjoy later.

Brynlee Marie part 1

We found out very early we were expecting baby number 3. I was about 3 weeks along. And at 4 weeks it was confirmed. :) We were so surprised and excited. I never really had morning sickness with the first 2 but this time around at 6 weeks I found myself before the Porcelain throne. After vomiting for 48 hrs straight. It was time to go to the hospital. I was dehydrated and in so much pain. I was thinking this is more than morning sickness. They gave me some fenergan. Which dropped my blood pressure so low and so fast I passed out. :/ not fun. I had to pull the emergency cord thingy from in the bathroom. A doctor knocked, "is everything ok?" I wanted to shout, "no I just pulled that cord to see if it really worked!" But all I could muster was,"I passed out." He wheeled me back to my room where I wasn't aloud to get up anymore. Several Iv bags later I was able to go home. I was still sick for about the next 3 weeks. The it subsided. During that tim...

Supporting each other

Yesterday was a dramatic day for me. I went to a hollister nurse in. Because a manger humiliated yelling at a momma nursing her 7 month old daughter. Told he she had to stop or leave. This I the event that created the nurse in. Mine went well. I was there alone nursing my 11 month old daughter. My 4 and 3 year olds at toe. And my little sister Katie standing guard. Mostly helping with the other 2. A mall guard walked by almost every other minute. But I was giving no trouble. We nursed she was done we left. Easy peasy like it should be. Others were not as lucky! It's so sad really. Moms no matter what we do get judge and ridiculed for it. We bottle feed (oh she's not giving that baby the best) We nurse (I can't believe they are doing that in public) We diaper (they are hurting our environment) We cloth diaper (ewwww) We let them CIO (they don't love their child) We wear our baby (how will they learn to walk? Your spoiling them) We do not vaccinate (your kill...
